I have a situation in my life that I cannot possibly fix.
Believe me, I’ve tried.
It hasn’t worked.

In thinking about this problem, I began to meditate on Genesis 1.
There was darkness and void.  Nothing as it should be.
(Like my situation I thought.)

Yet in that state of darkness the Spirit of God was there!
He was hovering!  He was brooding.

And when the time was right, God spoke and everything changed.
And it was good.

I feel like God was telling me to pray that the Spirit of God would hover over my situation.
In His perfect timing, He will speak the word that changes everything!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.  And God saw the light, that it was good.  Genesis 1:1-4

God Sings

The Lord your God is with you,

the Mighty Warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you;

in His love He will no longer rebuke you,

(He will quiet you with His love)

He will rejoice over you with singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

I have a lot on my mind today.  Not just on my mind, but on my plate and my to-do list too.

Before my eyes opened this morning I was already making lists and

thinking about what I needed to accomplish.

I was letting myself get overwhelmed.

So, before anyone else woke up, I went outside and talked to God.

I invited him into my day, my decision making, my to do list…

And I was reminded of this verse.

God is with me!  He takes great delight in me!

So much so that he rejoices over me with singing!

Thank about that … God sings over us!

So whatever is on your plate today, whatever you are facing;

God is with you!  He takes great delight in you!  He will quiet you with His love!

In fact, if you take time and get alone with Him,

you may even hear Him singing.

Give God Time

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

Psalm 37:4-5

Anyone else have a desire that hasn’t yet come to pass?

Waiting can be frustrating. Getting what you want right now seems so much better.

We’ve delighted … committed … trusted.

But it hasn’t come to pass.

We are still waiting.

Look at that last phrase … “He shall bring it to pass.”

Yes, there are times when we have to do something to make things happen.

But then there are times that we have to wait on God and let things happen.

It’s God’s job to bring it to pass. Not ours.

Just a thought for those of us waiting for a desire that’s been

in our hearts a while …. maybe even years.

God’s working on it. He hasn’t forgotten.

Give. God. Time.
